Thanks to everyone who entered to win, this was my first time participating in the Sew Mama Sew! giveaway and it was a lot of fun!  I also spent hours going from blog to blog and came away with a few more favorites :)

I've been sewing like crazy lately trying to finish my latest quilt top.  Here are a few pictures of my progress...

If you look closely at the next one you can see my kitty, Buster, in the corner.  Usually it is so hard to take pictures as he comes running when he hears the camera turn on.  He LOVES getting his picture taken!

So a little about this quilt.  My LQS has a huge Super Bowl sale where hundreds of bolts are priced at 3, 4, or 5 bucks.  It was my first time experiencing this sale with my mom and I got a ton of fabric for my stash.  When I was just about done (I thought I was done a few times but kept finding more) I found Elizabeth Hartman's book just sitting on a table waiting for me to take it home!  So that's how I decided to make this quilt.  Also a few of the fabrics were from pieces I've had for years, like the pink and red fabric in the picture above.  This is actually from a cotton skirt my sister wore in high school, she gave it to me at some point, and I held on to it.  Glad I did, I think it will add a lot to the finished quilt.  The hemline was the directional part of the fabric, and now that pops up randomly amongst the 48 blocks.  Oh and with the rest of the skirt I was able to make handles for a purse I gave my sis after cutting fabric for this quilt!
